I have created a $130 fortnightly meal plan for the period 09/12/20 – 22/12/20.
This meal plan includes a basic breakfast, lunch, dinner, fresh fruit and some home made snacks. This meal plan should cost you less than $130 because I’ve included all the staples you need (eg flour, sugar, oil, milk etc) but you may already have these as well as other ingredients listed on the shopping list. This meal plan will not suit all families, especially those with special dietary requirements.
Breakfasts will be simple- toast, corn flakes, instant oats.
Lunches will be a lot of sandwiches and/or leftovers. Eg There will be a lot of salmon patties leftover after making the salmon patty burgers, you could eat them with salad or as a salmon patty salad sandwich.
For the dinners, I’ve taken inspiration from the warmer weather and included some cool meals. After the meal plan is finished, there will be some extras leftover, especially sausages, onions and potatoes. If you have eaten all your cooked leftovers before you get to the “leftovers” night, you could use these here.
Snacks will be fruit, scones, pancakes and/or jam drops.
Dinners
- Bangers and Mash (plus peas/carrots)
- Fried rice (using leftover sausage in place of the bacon)
- Chicken drumsticks served with leftover fried rice

I have chosen to shop and Coles and Woolworths because where I live they are close together. I have bought home brand items where possible. Using my existing memberships (through insurance companies) I am able to obtain a 4% discount at Coles and a 5% discount at Woolworths. Some items may be cheaper if you shop at Aldi.
