Homestyle Hamburgers

Homestyle Hamburgers

Hamburgers are the ultimate takeaway food, but at $6-$8 each they definitely aren’t a cheap meal for the family. The funny thing is, if you have the ingredients at home, you can make the hamburgers yourself at a fraction of the cost and in the time it would take for you to drive to and from the takeaway shop. Home made hamburgers are usually less greasy as well which makes it a healthier alternative.

When cooking hamburgers it is a good idea to be organised. Before you start cooking, make sure that everything is prepared. Slice your onions and tomatoes, wash and chop your lettuce etc. Everyone wants to eat their burger when it is still hot so try and get as much done as possible before cooking. It’s also helpful if you can rope someone in to prep the rolls while you cook the onions, patties and egg. That way someone else can be toasting the buns and have the salad added when you’re ready to add the hot ingredients.

Perfect with some home made mayonniase or chilli mayonnaise.

If you like burgers, you could also try a chicken schnitzel burger or a salmon patty burger.
