My parents have a small lemon tree and they recently offered me some of their lemons. I couldn’t resist trying this recipe out. This syrup cake is lovely and sweet, but citrusy and tangy all at once. You can can eat it hot or cold, but, be warned – make sure you in early and get a slice before your husband, or other member of your family, pops it into a container and takes it to work when you’re not looking (he really did!).
