Spaghetti Bolognaise Pastries

My family loves pies! Anything that comes encased in golden fluffy puff pastry is heaven to us. Most people would probably make toasted sandwiches to use up their leftovers but we like to turn them into pies, pasties and sausage rolls instead. Spaghetti bolognaise is great on its own, but try putting the leftovers in pastry, it may still be spaghetti bolognaise but it will feel like you’re eating an entirely different meal and it’s quick and easy to prepare.

Prep: 10 minutes

Cook: 20 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • Approx 2 cups of coldĀ Spaghetti Bolognaise
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • grated cheese (optional)
  • 2 tsp oil (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 190C and line a baking tray
  2. Cut the puff pastry into 4 squares.
  3. Place approx 1/2 cup filling on one of the squares, leaving a 1cm border around the edge. Top with another square and use a fork to press the edges together.
  4. Using a pastry brush or you finger tips, very lightly oil the pastry. This will encourage it to go golden in the oven.
  5. If you are adding cheese you can add it to the filling before you enclose it, or you can sprinkle some cheese on top of the pastry.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes until puffed and golden.
