Save Money Using Home Made Cleaning Products

Using home made cleaning products may seem cheap to some people, but to other people it is thrifty and fun. Some people are ecstatic to make their own products because they know exactly what their products contain, whereas others like to pay for expensive products that do exactly the same thing and they have no idea what is in them.

I think the only thing everyone can agree on is that making your own cleaning products will save you a lot of money. If you were to buy a spray and wipe style cleaner from a supermarket you would pay close to $5, but I can give you a recipe that costs only cents to make.

Please use these links to go straight to the recipes you are after:

Vinegar Cleaner

Scouring Paste

Metal Polish

Rinse Aid

Citrus Spray Cleaner

Hardwood Floor Cleaner

Toilet Cleaning Bombs

Liquid Dishwashing Detergent

Dishwasher Powder

Carpet Deodoriser

Window Cleaner

Fabric Softener

Stain Remover

Laundry Washing Powder

Bathroom Tile and Grout Cleaner

Note: These home made cleaning products should still be treated with care, even though they are home made, they are still cleaning products and while not as toxic as their store bought companions you should still exercise caution with them.

Cleaning products should be well labelled and placed out of reach of children.

Keep any cloths you use for the bathroom separate to those used in the kitchen to avoid cross contamination. A good tip for this is to use different coloured cloths for each area.

I recommend always spot testing cleaning products in a small hidden area to ensure they will not damage anything.
