Sausages with Mash and Peas

Sausages with mash and peas is staple in most family houses, it’s not a terribly interesting meal but it hits the spot at meal times and is extremely budget friendly. When I was growing up my brothers used to make there dinner into a sausage, mash and pea sandwich, it’s surprisingly nice and I encourage you to try it next time you make this.

Prep: 5 minutes

Cook: 20 minutes

Serves: 4

 

Ingredients

  • 8 sausages
  • 400 g potatoes
  • 1.5 cups peas
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 tbs margarine or butter
  • salt, to taste

 

Method

  1. Peel and cut potatoes into chunks. Boil until tender.
  2. While the potatoes are boiling, add the peas to some salted water and allow them to boil until cooked.
  3. Fry the sausages in frypan over medium high heat until cooked through.
  4. Mash the potatoes, adding margarine milk and stirring until combined. Season with salt
  5. Serve.
