Honeycomb is a delicious little treat that is quick and easy to whip up. Here is a recipe using golden syrup instead of honey.

Ingredients
- 100 g sugar
- 4 tbs golden syrup
- 1 1/2 tsp bi carb soda
Method
- Line a slice tray with baking paper.
- Add the sugar and golden syrup to a large saucepan over low heat, let the mixture melt first. Increase the heat to medium and let the mixture simmer until it is the colour of maple syrup.
- Turn off the heat, and sprinkle the bi carb over the surface, whisk quickly and then watch the honeycomb puff up in front of your eyes.
- Using a spatula, pour the honeycomb into your slice tray and let cool completely.
- Smash the honeycomb into pieces to serve.
