There are many different ways you can make devilled sausages, but with the ingredients on hand from our shopping, this is the quickest and easiest version I know.
I like my devilled sausages served on a bed of mash with some peas or other vegetables, it’s a filling but budget meal that anyone can make.

Ingredients
- 8 thin sausages (optional, cut up or left whole)
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 x 400 g tin diced/crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable stock
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 – 2 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp oil, for frying
- salt and pepper
Method
- In a saucepan, heat oil to medium heat.
- Add the onions and cook for 5 minutes until the onions have softened.
- Add the sausages to the saucepan and brown them.
- Once the sausages have browned, add the tomatoes, stock, garlic and chilli powder.
- Let simmer for 15 – 20 minutes until the sausages are cooked and the sauce has thickened.
- Serve with mashed potatoes and peas
