Devilled Sausages -
Devilled Sausages

There are many different ways you can make devilled sausages, but with the ingredients on hand from our shopping, this is the quickest and easiest version I know.

I like my devilled sausages served on a bed of mash with some peas or other vegetables, it’s a filling but budget meal that anyone can make.

Prep: 5 minutes

Cook: 25 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 8 thin sausages (optional, cut up or left whole)
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1 x 400 g tin diced/crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable stock
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 – 2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp oil, for frying
  • salt and pepper

Method

  1. In a saucepan, heat oil to medium heat.
  2. Add the onions and cook for 5 minutes until the onions have softened.
  3. Add the sausages to the saucepan and brown them.
  4. Once the sausages have browned, add the tomatoes, stock, garlic and chilli powder.
  5. Let simmer for 15 – 20 minutes until the sausages are cooked and the sauce has thickened.
  6. Serve with mashed potatoes and peas
